2019 Became The Year I Started Falling For Fashion!
Growing up as a kid, fashion was never really my thing. I l always heard about it and seen about it on tv but never knew about it for myself. And since I've always been a bit bigger than everyone else (#BigBoyThiccc) finding good quality clothes that weren't either really cheap material or terribly patterned was a challenge. I can admit that my outfit choices were "interesting" to say the least. A lot of patterns that I wouldn't dare wear now and a lot of oversized clothes to hide any insecurity I had about my body.
As I've gotten older, my awareness of fashion and style have changed and evolved. I've always had an interest in it but never knew where I could fit in or how someone like me could do it. I've tried the Preppy style at one time(The Graphic Tee over a Polo vibe), the I just want to be comfortable style(Basic Tee, Sweats,Minimal Effort) and a few others that just didn't feel right.
But the one thing that has stayed consistent throughout the times is my love for sports. I love being active and it's always been a challenge trying to bring my athletic world and my curiosity of fashion to a healthy balance. Recently I've been experimenting with blending those worlds together. My issue would either be too much athletic at once or extending too much on the fashion style so finding that balance is important for me to find.
And that's what this blog is going to be, my fashion journey. From experimenting with pieces I've had forever and styles I don't even know about yet. The overall goal is to find a balance of my love for sports and my growing love for fashion. As I'm writing this, I'm currently on the train coming back from NYFW with my girlfriend and it's been an experience for sure(NYFW Recap OTW). I did a lot of experimenting here and it paid off in various ways.
I'm not a fashion guy so this is a new lane I'm entering but I'm excited. And I'm glad I'm able to experiment and go through this journey with other people like yourself reading. What are some new styles you're trying this upcoming year?
